Monthly Report on Human Rights Violations in June 2026 indicates a significant increase in executions, continuation of widespread arrests, execution of political prisoners, arrest of Baha’i citizens, and persistence of killings resulting from shooting by agents.

Iran Human Rights Society, Sunday 5 July 2026 – The monthly report on the human rights situation in Iran during June 2026 shows that the trend of violating the fundamental rights of citizens has continued. According to the collected information, at least 108 prisoners were executed in various prisons, 96 people were arrested, and at least five citizens also lost their lives as a result of shooting by agents. A significant portion of these cases relates to those arrested in the December 2025 protests and ethnic and religious minorities.

Why is the June 2026 Human Rights Report Important?

Examination of the published statistics shows that June 2026 has been one of the tense months from the perspective of the human rights situation. The increase in the number of executions, the continuation of the arrest of activists and citizens, the issuance and execution of sentences against those arrested in the protests, as well as reports related to the killing of citizens as a result of shooting by agents, are among the most important axes of this report.

What Picture Do the Execution Statistics in June 2026 Present?

According to the published information, at least 108 prisoners were executed in various prisons. Of this number:

  • 16 Baloch people
  • 14 Kurdish people
  • 5 Afghan nationals
  • 2 women
  • 101 men
  • 5 political prisoners

The execution of this number of prisoners in one month has still increased concerns about the trend of implementing the death penalty.

Execution of Two Women in Qazvin Central Prison

Among the executed, there were also two women. Asieh Farhmand, 28 years old, was executed on 7 June 2026 on the charge of murder in Qazvin Central Prison. Also, Zeinab Zarini, 32 years old, was executed on the same day and in the same prison on a similar charge.

Execution of Five Political Prisoners

One of the most important parts of this report is dedicated to the implementation of the execution sentence of five political prisoners. Ashkan Maleki and Mehrdad Mohammadi-Nia, two Kurdish political prisoners, were executed on the first of June 2026 in Qezel Hesar Prison.

According to available information, these two people along with Arman Ma’refati had been tried in a case related to the December 2025

protests. This case was linked to the events of Nasr Neighborhood in Tehran and Imam Hadi Seminary and charges such as acting against national security, destruction of public property, and participation in arson had been attributed to them.

Also, Fathollah Avari, 42 years old, was executed on the second of June in Hamadan Central Prison.

In continuation of this trend, Javad Zamani and Abolfazl Sa’edi, 24 years old, were also executed on 16 June in Shahroud Prison. According to reports, all three people were also among those arrested in the December 2025 protests.

How Was the Situation of Arrests?

According to the published statistics, at least 96 people were arrested during June 2026. Of this number:

  • 88 people in political cases, related to the December 2025 protests, implementation of sentences or cases related to the war were arrested.
  • 8 Baha’i citizens were also arrested either for the implementation of prison sentences or without stating a specific reason.

This statistic shows that the arrest of political activists and religious minorities continues.

Report on Killings Resulting from Shooting by Agents

Another part of this report is dedicated to the loss of life of citizens as a result of shooting by agents. According to the published information, at least:

  • 4 citizens
  • and one fuel carrier

lost their lives in various cities and roads as a result of shooting by agents. At the same time, the report emphasizes that given the conditions after the war and information restrictions, it is likely that the real statistics are more than the published figures.

The statistics of June 2026 show that the trend of executions, arrests, and the use of deadly violence against citizens has continued. The implementation of the execution sentence for five political prisoners, the increase in arrests related to the December 2025 protests and the arrest of Baha’i citizens, along with reports related to shooting by agents, present a picture of the continuation of concerns about the human rights situation in Iran.

Examination of the Rights of the Case Based on Domestic Laws Introduction

Although the laws related to security cases and the death penalty have always faced criticism from international human rights institutions, even based on domestic laws, observance of the principles of fair trial, the right to defense, proportionality of punishment, preservation of the lives of citizens, and observance of the rights of the accused are considered legal requirements.
