Continuation of arrest and uncertainty of Iman Khedri and Danial KhaneZar in Shiban Prison in Ahvaz
Despite the fact that theyn arrested for nearly eight months, their cases not yet referred to any court.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, Iman Khedri and Daniyal Khanezar are still in limbo after 236 days of their arrest. These two people arrested on 11 April 2023 by security forces in Izeh city. These two accused of being members of opposition groups and propaganda activities against the regime.
Iman Khedri and Daniyal KhaneZar transferred to Shiban prison in Ahvaz after arresting in Izeh city where they lived.
Due to the fact that almost 8 months have passed since the arrest of these people, their case not referred to any court so far. The investigator of the 2nd branch of the General and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of Izeh city is also preventing their release by paying bail.
After being arrested by the security forces, Iman Khedri and Daniyal KhaneZar transferred to Ahvaz. In Ahvaz, they transferred to the security ward of Shiban prison. And since then, till now, (December 3rd, 2023) their detention order extended.
The high number of arrests of young protestors in Izeh city
The number of arrests in Izeh city is high due to its anti-government atmosphere. Security forces arrested many youths of this city during the nationwide protests of 2022. On 25 November 2022, the security forces shot at the protesting people and killed Kian Pirflak and several others. Then They tried to attribute this crime to the young protesters.
On December 20, 2022, security agents attacked the village of Parsurakh Izeh with heavy weapons and arrested Mujahed Korkor and one other person, and killed two of their associates, Mahmoud Ahmadi and Hossein Saeedi. The judiciary is trying to blame Mujahed Korkor for the murder of Kian Pirflak.
