Execution of 4 prisoners in the cities of Karaj and Khoy
According to the resolutions adopted in the United Nations General Assembly, the government of Iran has the highest number of executions proportionate to its population.
According to the Human Rights Society of Iran, four prisoners executed in the three days leading up to Tuesday, 2 Aban 1402 (October 24, 2023). On the morning of Tuesday, 24 October 2023, one prisoner executed in Khoy Prison.
According to the Chief Justice of West Azerbaijan, this condemned person, identified as A.M., arrested on charges of murder and sentenced to execution by Criminal Court No. 1 of this province.
Also, 2 prisoners executed in Qezelhesar prison in Karaj on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. These two prisoners charged with rape. There is no information about the identity of these 2 prisoners. It is said that these prisoners were citizens of Afghanistan.
On Sunday, October 22, 2023, a prisoner executed in Karaj Central Prison (penitentiary). This prisoner’s name was Dawood Haydari. He was 49 years old and from Shemiran. Dawood Heydari previously arrested on charges related to drugs. On the same day, another prisoner named Khosro Naghiani executed, which announced earlier.

The economic policies and looting of the country’s capital by the government leaders, which have led to poverty and unemployment for many people, are the main reasons for the increase in criminal activities. Therefore, looting the national capital of the country is directly proportional to the increase in crimes.
According to resolutions passed in the United Nations General Assembly, the Iranian government has the highest number of executions relative to its population. Most of the trials conducted in Iran are outside international standards and unfair.
Historically, execution has been a tool of power and governance for dictators to intimidate and subdue people. The dictatorship ruling Iran using execution permanently for the past 40 years to create fear and establish its own rule. Abandoning execution and suppression means the destruction of the current oppressive government.
