The killing of a fuel carrier by security forces on the road from Nehbandan to Sefidabe
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Friday, October 13, 2023, the security forces stationed at the Nahbandan checkpoint in Sefidabeh threw a spike under the wheel of a fuel truck, causing it to overturn and killing the driver.
The identity of this Baloch tanker is Nematullah Kebdani, son of Habibullah, 38 years old. He was a resident of Zabul, married and had 3 children.
According to the witnesses of the scene, on Friday evening, the forces of the Nahbandan checkpoint ran under Nematullah Kebdani’s car, which was passing by, without stopping or warning. This action caused killing driver by overturning the car.
According to published statistics, in 2022, at least 168 fuel carriers have lost their lives in Iranshahr-Sarzab region alone.
Continuous suppression of fuel carriers by security forces
Fuel carriers are always suppressed by government security forces. Security forces shoot at cars that refuse to bribe them. Shooting at fuel carrier’s cars causes them to overturn and catch fire.
According to statistics released in 2022, only on the Iranshahr area, 167 fuel carriers lost their lives due to the shooting of security forces or road accidents.
Carreiring fuel is the main source of income in Sistan and Baluchistan province
Fuel delivery is the main source of income for the deprived people of Sistan and Baluchistan province. Fuel carreiring in this province, like Kolbari in Kurdistan, is only a result of poverty and looting of public wealth by the heads of the government. The poverty and deprivation of the people, which forces them to play with their lives, despite the abundance of wealth in the country. In the past years, the drought and unemployment have cut off the people of this province. They have turned to the business of death in order to get a little bite of bread.
Government leaders claim that fuel carrier has high income to cover up the poverty of the people. But the bitter reality is something else. The people and even educated youth in this province have no other source of income and their only choice is fuel carrier.
Their income after each service is only a few hundred thousand tomans. This is while the highest profit belongs to the main smugglers who are all enemies and mercenaries of Revolutionary Guards.
