According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, the political prisoner sentenced to death again by the judiciary. The official notification of this sentence delivered to him on Monday, October 16, 2023. This verdict is the result of an unfair and unlawful judicial process.
Last court session for this political prisoner held on September 27, without his right to have a lawyer. Naeb Askari from Urmia, arrested by the intelligence agents of the Urmia Revolutionary Guards on March 24, 2021. It is said that he had been residing in Kurdistan for several years and was sentenced to death by the Urmia Revolutionary Court in 2018 on charges of membership in the Pjak organization in absentia.
This political prisoner, suffers from kidney stones, but prison officials have prevented him from receiving treatment outside the prison. He has been deprived of access to medical services so far.
Transfer to the supermax ward
On December 12, 2021, Naeb Askari, along with other political prisoners, started a hunger strike in protest of their transfer to the extea security ward.
In March of 2022, Naeb Askari along with another political prisoner Shaker Behrouz also started a hunger strike and transferred to solitary confinement.

After a clash between political prisoners and common criminals in August of 2022, the Naeb Askari, along with several other political prisoners, sentenced to 50 lashes and also 3 months in prison on charges of disrupting prison order.
Execution is one of the government’s tools for suppressing society. Previously, political prisoners had written a statement in solidarity with the families of the executed prisoners.
