Salmas, two prisoners accused of drug possession executed. Increase in executions in Urmia prison
Two drug-related prisoners executed in Salmas prison. Also, with the identification of the name and details of another executed prisoner, the number of executions in Urmia Central Prison reached two yesterday.
According to the report of the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Saturday, May 6, 2023, two prisoners named Abdullah Khan Mohammadi and Salahuddin Majidi (Dodkanlu) who were accused of narcotics were executed. These two prisoners were both arrested and sentenced to death three years ago in relation to drugs.
Kamel Dudkanlu, the father of Salahuddin Majidi (Dudkanlu) was also executed in this prison 4 months ago.
In addition, another 5 prisoners of Urmia prison who were transferred for execution in recent days were executed on Friday, May 5, 2023.
His name was Behzad Pourhanifi. His charge was related to drugs.
On the same day, another prisoner was also executed.
In May of this year, the judiciary accelerated the execution of death sentences in Iranian prisons. These executions have reached at least 52 people, two of whom were women.
