Two prisoners executed in Roodān and Lakan prisons in Rasht/one of them was an Afghan man
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on January 9 and 11, 2023, two prisoners were executed in Lakan prisons in Rasht and Roodān on charges of drug possession and murder.
At dawn on January 9, 2023, an Afghan prisoner named Mirajan Mohammadi was executed in Roodān prison on drug charges.
Mirajan Mohammadi was a native of Farah Province, Afghanistan. He was 26 years old, married and had one child. He was deprived of the last meeting with his family.
On the same date, another prisoner named Nazir Sorkh Kaman was executed in Roodān prison.
On January 11, 2023, a prisoner was executed on charges of murder in Rasht’s Lakan prison. His identity is not known.
Another prisoner named Milad Ashob was executed on the same day in Lakan prison in Rasht.
These executions were not announced on government websites and were secret executions.
