Yusuf Savari was transferred to Shiban prison in Ahvaz after the sentence was changed
In order to obtain forced confessions, Youssef Savari was subjected to physical and mental torture for a long time in the IRGC intelligence detention center and then was transferred to Shiban prison in Ahvaz.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, in the days ending on February 3, 2024, Yousef Sawari was transferred to Shiban prison in Ahvaz. He was previously sentenced to one year in prison. Last week, Youssef Savari was summoned to the 8th branch of Ahvaz Revolutionary Court.
In this court, he was informed that his sentence was changed from one year to 6 years. On January 31, 2024, he was transferred to Shiban Ahvaz prison to execute the sentence.
Youssef Savari was arrested on November 8, 2018 during the raid of Sosangerd intelligence forces on his home. These forces beat his parents while arresting him. By pressuring Yusef Savari and his parents, the intelligence agents were trying to get them to give televised confessions against a family member who is abroad.
Physical and mental torture of Yusuf Savari to obtain forced confessions
In order to obtain forced confessions, Yusef Savari subjected to physical and mental torture. It was for a long time in the IRGC intelligence detention center and then transferred to Shiban prison in Ahvaz. Youssef Savari detained for 17 months and released in March 2019 after posting a heavy bail of 500 million tomans.
He was sentenced to one year of imprisonment and 4 years of probation in Ahvaz Revolutionary Court. He was accused of propagating against the regime and communicating with opposition groups.
In July 1302, the sentence of Yusuf Savari changed to 6 years of imprisonment. And 4 years of suspended imprisonment by Ahvaz Revolutionary Court. At the same time, there are no documents in his case. And the judge of the court issued his verdict based only on the statements of the security agents.
Yusuf Savari is 34 years old, married and has 3 children. He is a resident of Abu Hamizah district of Sosangard.
