Two prisoners, who accused of drug offenses, executed in Zahedan Central Prison.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Saturday, October 21, 2023, two prisoners executed in Zahedan Central Prison. With the execution of another prisoner in Isfahan Central Prison, the number of executed prisoners on this day reached three.
On Saturday, October 21, two Baloch prisoners accused of drug offenses, only one of whom has been identified, executed in Zahedan Central Prison. Zaher Naroui (Shirzahi), a 32-year-old mother of three, was one of the executed prisoners.
He arrested in Zahedan in 2020 on charges related to drugs. He and another Baloch prisoner, whose name is unknown, transferred to solitary confinement on Thursday, October 19, for execution.
Execution is a type of punishment for convicts. Currently, most countries in the world have abolished the death penalty, and countries that still have this type of punishment in their laws refrain from issuing or executing such sentences except in rare cases.
