Executing of a female prisoner in the 21st century is one of the crimes and violations of human rights committed by the Iranian government. This is happening while the death penalty has been abolished in many countries around the world.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, in the morning of the 10th of Aban 1402 (November 1, 2023). A female prisoner executed in Yasuj Prison and six male prisoners executed in Karaj’s Ghezelhesar Prison.
With the increase in these numbers, a total of at least 28 prisoners executed in Iranian prisons during the last 10 days in Iran’s prison.
Execution of the female prisoner in Yasuj
In the morning of Wednesday, the 10th of Aban, (November 1, 2023), Maryam Foroughmansh, from Dehdasht, executed in Yasuj Central Prison. She convicted of murder and sentenced to death for this charge.
In Karaj’s Ghezelhesar Prison, in the same day, six prisoners executed on charges of drug trafficking, murder, and violent sexual assault. The names of these prisoners were Ehsan Haddad, Abbas Anarki, a prisoner named Behrouz whose last name is unknown, Mohsen Abbasi, Yadalollah Farrokhi, and Sadegh Tajik.
Sadegh Tajik, Abbas Anarki, and Ehsan Haddad charged with murder and sentenced to death for this charge. Mohsen Abbasi and Yadalollah Farrokhi involved in drug-related offenses. Another prisoner named Kuchak Behrouz charged with violent sexual assault and murder.

The high number of executions of prisoners in Iran has received negative reactions globally. Mr. Javaid Rahman condemned the deprivation of citizens’ right to access a lawyer in his periodic report.
