Zakaria Karimi, the younger brother of Ayoub Karimi, is in temporary and indeterminate detention for more than two weeks
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Sunday, December 10, 2023. Zakaria Karimi arrested a few days before the execution of his brother, the religious-political prisoner of Sunni Ayub Karimi. After more than two weeks, he is still undecided.
According to an informed source, Zakaria Karimi is currently in custody at the Urmia Intelligence Detention Center. No explanation given about the reason for his arrest and accusation. And the intelligence agents always say that he will be released after answering a few questions.
Zakaria Karimi, married with four children, arrested by the security forces in Sardasht on Monday, November27, 2023. The officers arrested him without a warrant.
Two days later, on November 29, 2023, his brother Ayoub Karimi executed in GHezelHesar prison on the charge of murdering Mullah Abdul Rahim Tina. He did not accept this charge and declared his innocence many times.

Seven prisoners were all arrested in 2009
Ayoub Karimi along with six other Sunni prisoners, Dawood Abdullahi, Farhad Salimi, Anwar Khezri, Khosro Basharat, Kamran Sheikhe. And also Ghasem Abesteh, who arrested in 2009. In a case made by the Ministry of Intelligence, they accused the murder of Abdur Rahim Tina, the Friday imam of Khalfai Rashidin Mahabad Mosque, “Moharebeh”. And also “corruption on earth”, “action against national security”, “propaganda against the system”, “membership in Selefi groups”.
These 7 prisoners sentenced to death in March 2015 by the 28th branch of the Revolutionary Court presided over by Judge Moqiseh. Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court, headed by Judge Salavati, sentenced him to death again on the charge of “corruption on earth” in June 2018.
Two Sunni prisoners out of the seven prisoners in this joint case executed since November, and five other Sunni prisoners are now in danger of execution. On November 5, 2023, religious-political prisoner Ghasem Abasteh, one of the seven cases, executed after 14 years of imprisonment.
