According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Sunday, December 10, 2023. Zakaria Karimi arrested a few days before the execution of his brother, the religious-political prisoner of Sunni Ayub Karimi. After more than two weeks, he is still undecided.

According to an informed source, Zakaria Karimi is currently in custody at the Urmia Intelligence Detention Center. No explanation given about the reason for his arrest and accusation. And the intelligence agents always say that he will be released after answering a few questions.

Zakaria Karimi, married with four children, arrested by the security forces in Sardasht on Monday, November27, 2023. The officers arrested him without a warrant.

Two days later, on November 29, 2023, his brother Ayoub Karimi executed in GHezelHesar prison on the charge of murdering Mullah Abdul Rahim Tina. He did not accept this charge and declared his innocence many times.
