Retribution sentence and gouging out the eye of protester

Despite Seyed Mehdi Mousaviyan’s denial, his court session held on January 27, 2019, and the judge sentenced him to retribution and payment of ransom.

According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, in the days ending on January 23, 2024. A protester of the nationwide protests of January 2017 is in danger of bieng blinded. Seyyed Mehdi Mousaviyan accused of blinding a police agent in the nationwide protests of January 2017 by throwing a stone at him. This prisoner, whose name Seyyed Mehdi Mousaviyan, is in danger of execution of Retribution sentence by the judiciary.

Despite Seyyed Mehdi Mousaviyan’s denial, his court session held on 7 February 2018 and the judge found him guilty. This ruling has also been confirmed by the Supreme Court.

Retribution, demands retribution for the loss of his left eye and the payment of blood money. The complainant has requested 14 billion tomans to waive his demand for retribution. The family of Seyed Mehdi Moosavian does not have the ability to pay such an amount, and the risk of carrying out the retribution sentence increases every day.

Fatemeh Heidari, the sister of Javad Heidari, released a heartbreaking video stating: “According to the Islamic Republic’s claim, during the protests of December 2017, a government agent blinded by a stone. At that time, Mehdi Moosavian arrested on false charges of blinding the eye of this agent. They told Mehdi that he either had to pay 14 billion tomans in blood money or face retribution, and they would blind his eye.

Retribution sentence and gouging out the eye of a protester

After six years, Mehdi, who is a construction worker, has sold his entire life and managed to gather one billion tomans for the blood money, but they still want to blind his eye because he can’t pay the remaining 13 billion. The government leaders use inhumane retribution laws, especially eye retribution, solely to intimidate the society. They try to prevent the rise of public protests by creating an atmosphere of fear and terror.
