Main drug traffickers in Karaj Central Prison transferred to the ward of detainees of recent protests
Iranian Human Rights Society, Saturday, October 29, 2022. According to the reliable news, Karaj Central Prison authorities transferred some of the main drug smugglers who play an effective role in cooperation with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. And they play the main role in bringing drugs into prisons.
They transferred to Ward 1 of Karaj Central Prison,where youths and teenagers arrested in recent protests are being held.
An informed source told the Iranian Human Rights Society. “According to previous experiences, the purpose of transferring the major drug traffickers to the detention center for youths in the recent protests is this. By importing drugs into these prisons, they will make the arrested youth addicted.”
This source further added: “In this way, the prison agents intend to make these young people addicted. And remove them from the scene of the protests and make them quiet and indifferent.”

According to Iranian Human Rights Society, Ward 1 of the Karaj Central Prison (Karaj Penitentiary) evacuated . And new detainees transferred to Ward 1, which caused overcrowding in other wards. About 100 people taken there in second week of October.
According to the received reports, the agents treated the detainees violently and severely beat them.
It is worth mentioning that according to Article 276 of the Regulations of Prisons Organization. “Detainees should be separated from sentenced prisoners and kept separately in relevant section until final verdict is issued.” Placing the drug convicts next to these detainees is a violation of the principle of separation of crimes from the laws of the same system.
