On February 6, 2022, during nationwide protests, Baloch student Ali Ahmad Kohkan was shot in the hip and waist by security agents.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Thursday, April 11, 2024, Baloch student Ali Ahmad Kohkan arrested by the security forces in Zahedan.
Ali Ahmad Kohkan had submitted a complaint to Zahedan Justice to deal with the injuries inflicted on him during the nationwide protests of 2022. After conducting specialized examinations and getting confirmation from the forensic doctor, he submitted it to the court, but instead of handling the complaint, the authorities of Zahedan Intelligence Department summoned him and then arrested him.
The recent arrest of other family members of Baloch student Ali Ahmad Kohkan
Another brother of a Baloch student named Ali Akbar Kohkan, along with another young Baloch named Hareth Kharout, arrested on the 6th of February 2024, in the city of Zahedan. But only he released after nearly 10 days. Also, Hamidreza Kohkan, the uncle of Ali Ahmad and three of his cousins named Edris Kohkan, Benjamin Kohkan, and Zabihullah Kohkan, are also in detention by security forces and are in Zahedan Central Prison.
Ali Ahmad Kohkan, the son of Halim, is a Baloch student majoring in elementary education at the Azad University and residing in Zahedan. Currently, there is no information available about his situation and whereabouts of detention.
Baloch student Ali Ahmad Kohkan shot in the hip and waist area by security forces during the nationwide protests on 6 February 2022. According to doctors, attempting to remove the bullet from his leg may result in the loss of his leg. That’s why the bullet has been in his body for over a year.
