According to an informed source. This political prisoner is suspected of having gastrointestinal cancer and needs immediate medical attention. He also suffers from severe back pain.
Earlier in March 2023. Political prisoner Mehdi Vafai Sani in Ward 8 of Evin Prison fell unconscious for two hours due to illness. After learning about his unconsciousness, his friends and inmates took him to the prison hospital. The prison authorities handcuffed and tied him in a condition where he was in a serious physical condition. The family of this political prisoner rushed to the hospital to find out about his condition. But they not allowed to visit their sick loved-one.

After interrogation and mental torture, she sentenced to 10 years in prison in june 2023 on charges including conspiracy and collusion. Another of his relatives, political prisoner Mohammad Javad Vafaei, also imprisoned in Vakil Abad prison in Mashhad and sentenced to death.
