Our real war, the message of political prisoner students Ali Younesi and Amirhossein Moradi on the occasion of Student Day
In honor of Student Day, political prisoners Ali Younesi and Amir Hossein Moradi, who are held in Evin Prison, sent a message to the people, titled “Our Real War” to express their defiance against the oppressive government and their hope for an upcoming uprising that will bring an end to the dictatorial regime.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Thursday, December 7th, 2023, two political prisoners, Ali Younesi and Amir Hossein Moradi, who are elite and student prisoners, sent a message titled “Our Real War” from Evin Prison on the occasion of Student Day.

This message addresses the government’s fear of the people’s uprising and promises that “this time too there is no escape from the upcoming uprising, an uprising that will come soon”.
These two elite students then put an end to the doubts and wrote. “Last year’s students showed that they are an important part of the uprising and the developments that followed. Today, as a young and knowledgeable group, they can be the end of doubts. Doubts like “who will come if they go” which are baseless. Because it is not assumed that “someone” will come, but the people’s decision is that any type of dictatorship, whether it is a king, or a sheikh will end once and for all and be replaced by a real and democratic republic.
They then conclude that this is our real war and write. “The students showed that they will not give up in this war that is our real war. A war whose victims are Armita and Mahsa and all those who executed or shot. The war that has been going on for 45 years against the people of Iran will end in the hands of all of us until we achieve freedom.
The full text of the message of two elite students, Ali Younesi and Amirhossein Moradi, on the occasion of December 7th, Student Day is as follows:
“Our real war”
December 7, 2023, will arrive in a situation where the Islamic Republic is afraid of another uprising, an uprising that can lead people to freedom. On the one hand, he has carried out mass executions and arrests, and on the other hand, he seeks to spread despair among the people, so that his rule may survive for a few more days in this dual fear and despair of society.
A repeated attempt that neither in 1999, nor in 2009, nor in 2017 and 2019 could prevent the next uprising, and this time there is no escaping the upcoming uprising, an uprising that will come soon.
These two elite students then put an end to the doubts and wrote: “Last year’s students showed that they are an important part of the uprising and the developments that followed. Today, as a young and knowledgeable group, they can be the end of doubts. Doubts like “who will come if they go” which are baseless. It is this potential and influential role of students that has made the government afraid and sharpened the blade of repression against students and professors.

About two elite students, Amirhossein Moradi and Ali Younesi
Ali Younesi, a computer engineering student, and Amirhossein Moradi , a physics student, two elite students of Sharif University of Technology, arrested by the intelligence agents on April 10, 2020, without a court order. Their arrest was accompanied by beatings. These two students then transferred to solitary cells 209 of Evin prison.
On the evening of Friday, April 10, after searching the houses and without providing a court order, the agents arrested these two student activists and severely beat them, so that during the attack of 12 IRGC agents on Ali Younisi’s house, they injured his forehead in a brutal beating.
Amirhossein Moradi, the silver medalist of the National Astronomy Olympiad in 2017 and Ali Younesi, the silver medalist of the National Astronomy Olympiad in 2016 and the gold medalist of the Astronomy Olympiad in 2017. Also, Ali Younesi has made Iran proud by winning the gold medal in the 12th World Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad held in China.
On Monday, November 22, 2021, Amnesty International, by publishing an open letter addressed to the Iranian judiciary, warned about the risk of execution of two elite students, Ali Younesi and Amirhossein Moradi, and demanded their immediate release.
Finally, on June 26, 2022, after 808 days of detention in closed cells and solitary cells of Evin prison. Two elite students transferred to Evin public prisons with heavy sentences of 16 years of imprisonment.
Ali Younesi along with his father Miryosef Younisi currently imprisoned in Evin prison. Miryosef Younsi arrested during nationwide protests, and despite the passage of several months, he still undecided.
