Meysam Chandani, a political prisoner, executed in Zahedan Central Prison
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Saturday, November 11, 2023, Chandani, a political prisoner, executed after 12 years of imprisonment. He accused of killing three police agents in 2011.
This political prisoner endured harsh torture. And alsosuffering during his 12 years of imprisonment in the Zahedan Intelligence Detention Center and Central Prison. On Thursday, November 9, 2023, he transferred from Ward 9 of Zahedan Central Prison for execution. Reportedly, on September 27, 2011, he arrested during an attack on his father’s house in Saravan and taken to the Zahedan Intelligence Detention Center where he endured severe torture for one year.
About the political prisoner, Meysam Chandani
Meysam Chandani arrested on the sixth day of Shahrivar month in 1390 (28 August 2011) during an attack on his father’s house in Saravan. He transferred to the Zahedan Intelligence Detention Center and subjected to severe torture for one year. During this time, he not allowed to meet or make phone calls to his family.
He also then transferred to Zahedan Central Prison, to the section for ordinary and violent criminals.
According to HaalVash reports, during his transfer to a public ward, the soles of his feet swollen, bruised and also bloody as a result of Cable Blows.
The brutal tortures were so severe that they caused him spiritual distress. The interrogators detained his elderly father, who was 65 years old, to put pressure on him and obtain televised confessions.
They also placed him in solitary confinement for a while. Meysam also transferred to solitary confinement in December 2013 and tortured to obtain televised confessions. He sentenced to death on charges of “acting against national security”, “membership in opposition groups” and “waging war through armed action”.
