Security forces attacked different areas of Zahedan after dark and arrested more than 50 people
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, after the bloody protests on Friday, September, 29, 2023 in Zahedan and other cities in Sistan and Baluchistan province, the officials of the regime have carried out widespread arrests in this province.
According to reports, more than 50 people have been arrested by security forces. Most of the arrests have taken place in areas such as Karimabad, Shirabad, Modares, Keshavarz, Khiyam, Khoramshahr, Kothsar, Beasat, Moshtarak, and others in Zahedan.
Some of the detainees are also from the cities of Mirjaveh and Khash. The names of some of the detainees are as follows: Yaser Zafar Naroui, 20 years old, Ramin Shahbakhsh, 26 years old, Esmaeil Barahoui, Edris Gomshadzehi, 21 years old, Hareth Baloch, Ahmad Mirbalouchzehi, 28 years old, Mohammad Ali Zehi, Rahmatullah Kabdani, Ghafoor Gorgij, Ebrahim Kabdani, Ali Lajeyi, Mir Hamzeh Alizadeh, 17 years old, Zakaria Nasroei Riggi, Yaser Riggi, Masoud Hosseinbar, and Abdolmatin Arababi, 19 years old.
Zahedan protests on the anniversary of Bloody Friday
On Friday, September, 29, 2023, people in Zahedan held protest rallies on the anniversary of Bloody Friday. These protests took place while the government officials had turned the city into a military barracks by deploying military and security forces to Zahedan two weeks ago. Security forces tried to intimidate the city by making widespread arrests.
On Friday, September, 29, after the end of Friday prayers, young protesters in Zahedan took to the streets and also chanted slogans against Khamenei and his repressive policies. Security forces initially tried to prevent the formation of protests. But were forced to retreat due to the resistance of the people. People continued their protests with slogans such as “Death to Khamenei” and “Death to Basijis”.
Protests in other cities of Sistan and Baluchestan province (arrested more than 50)
The youth of Rask also took to the streets in support of the protesters in Zahedan and on the anniversary of Bloody Friday. They also chanted slogans in support of Molana Naqshbandi.
These protests suppressed by government suppressive forces and local mercenaries. But youth protesters continued their protests in small groups on the streets around Friday prayers.
People in other cities of the province, including Khash, Taftan, Karimabad, etc., protested against the government’s suppressive policies.
Security forces responded by firing tear gas and direct shots at the protesters. In these protests, nearly 30 people in Zahedan injured.
