According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on the morning of Wednesday, September 27, 2023. A child criminal named Ali Najafi executed in Khorramabad. Ali Najafi was 17 years old when he committed the crime and sentenced to death for the murder of his cousin. Ali Najafi, son of Musa and a resident of Kuhdasht in Lorestan province, was hanged in Khorramabad Central Prison. In 2018, he accidentally shot and killed with a gun.
According to informed sources, he was beaten with a baton nine times and returned to his cell twice. Iran is one of the few countries that sentences and executes child criminals, and above all, carries out this sentence.
According to statistics released in the past decade from 2010 to present, more than 68 child criminals executed by judiciary.
Execution of a prisoner in Isfahan
According to reports received, in the morning Saturday 23th, of Septenber a prisoner named Mohammad Ali Jabbari executed in Isfahan’s Dastgerd prison on charges of drug trafficking. The prisoner was 35 years old and the execution not officially announced by authorities.

The arrest of these individuals occurs while the commanders of the Revolutionary Guards and government officials play a serious role in controlling international drug cartels. Abolishing the death penalty in 104 countries
Currently, 104 countries have abolished the death penalty through referendums. 50 countries have abolished methods leading to death and 6 countries will only have death penalty during times of war.
Currently, only 34 countries use inhumane execution as a form of punishment. Iran, under the rule of fundamentalist leaders, ranks second in terms of the number of executions and first in terms of the number of executions per capita.
Many executions not reported due to censorship. “This censorship is particularly strong in the execution of women.” At least 19 people executed in Iranian prisons since the beginning of September.
