Prisoner Executed in Karaj central prison

Iran, under the rule of fundamentalist leaders, ranks second in terms of the number of executions.

Iran is a country that uses the tool of prisoner execution to suppress its own people and has the highest number of executions per capita

According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on the morning of October 8, 2023. A prisoner named Mehrab Sintab was executed in Karaj Central Prison. This prisoner previously sentenced to death for deliberate murder. His death sentence carried out on Sunday, October 8. Mehrab Sintab, who was 38 years old, killed his wife in 2021.

The execution of this prisoner not yet officially announced by the authorities. Additionally, at least 31 prisoners executed in Iranian prisons within last two weeks.

There are no modern laws in the judiciary of the government

The lack of modern laws in the judiciary system of the government and the absence of classification in murder cases has led to intentional murder being considered a crime regardless of motive or history. This crime also results in the issuance of a death sentence in the government’s penal laws. Iran is a country that uses the tool of execution to suppress its people and has the highest number of executions per capita.

The death sentences issued and executed for crimes that not considered “very serious crimes” according to common legal definitions in the world and are also often the result of unfair and non-compliant trials with international standards.

Abolishing the death penalty in 104 countries

Currently, 104 countries have abolished the death penalty through holding referendums. Fifty countries have abolished methods leading to death, and six countries will only have the death penalty during times of war.

Currently, only 34 countries use inhumane execution as the death penalty. Iran, under the rule of fundamentalist leaders, ranks second in terms of the number of executions. And also first in terms of the number of executions per capita.

Many executions also not reported due to censorship. This censorship is particularly strong in the execution of women prisoner.
