Sahand Noor Mohammadzadeh sentenced to 6 years in prison and 10 years of exile to Kahnuj in Kerman province.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Thursday, March 30, 2023. The lawyer of the case of Sahand Noor Mohammadzadeh, one of the detainees, announced nationwide protests in an interview with Sharq newspaper.”Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court, Sahand Noor Mohammadzadeh, was exiled to Kahnuj in Kerman province for 10 years on charges of Moharebeh. Also, he sentenced to 5 years in prison on charges of assembly and collusion and one year on charges of disturbing public discipline.
According to Hamed Ahmadi, the judge of Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court rejected the death sentence but insisted on the charge of Moharebeh. This means that the sentence of severe punishment (death) is not enforceable.And Sahand Noor Mohammadzadeh must endure 10 years of exile to Kerman and 6 years of imprisonment.
About the way Sahand Noor Mohammadzadeh’s deporting, he said: “Probably Sahand will transfer to a prison in Kerman.”
Sahand’s lawyer announced that he will appeal the verdict.
In the same interview, the lawyer announced that he will appeal the verdict.
Sahand Noor Mohammadzadeh is the son of Jafar, born in 1996. He arrested in October 2022, during nationwide demonstrations. He was under interrogation in the solitary cells of Evin prison for some time and then transferred to Tehran prison.
In November 2022, in the 29th branch of the Revolutionary Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Mazloum, Sahand Noor Mohammadzadeh sentenced to “Moharebeh by destroying and setting fire to public facilities (garbage bin).
His other accusations are disturbing the discipline and security of the country and confronting the Islamic government. And also community and collusion with the intention of committing a crime against the security of the country.
He is also accused of disturbing public peace and discipline by participating in illegal gatherings. And in December 2022 he sentenced to death.
Amnesty International has repeatedly called for the cancellation of the death sentence of those detained during the nationwide protests.
He is currently imprisoned in Gohardasht prison.
