Political prisoners Zainab Hamrang, Shiva Esmaili and Sudabah Fakharzadeh deprived of the right to have a lawyer. And their trial held without the presence of a lawyer.
The trial of these three female political prisoners held on May 14, 2023, by Judge Iman Afshari in Branch 26 of Tehran Revolutionary Court.
Mrs. Zainab Hamrang, 58 years old, sentenced to 5 years in prison on charges of assembly and collusion. Mrs. Shiva Esmaili, 58, sentenced to 10 years in prison on charges including assembly and collusion. And Mrs. Soudabeh Fakharzadeh, 65 years old, charged with propaganda against the regime, sentenced to 5 years in prison.
Three political prisoners arrested in Tehran on March 11, 2022
These three political prisoners arrested by the security forces in Tehran on March 11, 2022. And transferred to the 209 ward of Evin.
After the interrogation ended in May 2023, these three prisoners transferred to the women’s ward of Evin prison.
Mrs. Zainab Hamrang Seydbeglou, 54 years old, a retired teacher from Ardabil city, a resident of Mughan city, Ardabil, married and has two children. She has been a union and civic activist.The political prisoner Zainab Hamrang Seydbeglou was in prison for two years before this period and released from the women’s ward of Evin prison in October 2022.
Shiva Esmaili, 58 years old, is the mother of political prisoner Mehdi Wafai, who currently incarcerated in Evin prison. Another relative of Mrs. Esmaili, political prisoner Mohammad Javad Vafaei, also imprisoned in Vakil Abad prison in Mashhad.
