Transferring to Amin Abad is punishment that awaits prisoners in case of violation of prison rules
According to Iranian Human Rights Society, on Thursday, September 15. Transfer to Amin Abad is the punishment for violation of prison rules, silent executions of female prisoners, hunger and lack of hygiene are part of the situation of female prisoners in Qarchak Varamin prison.
According to reports received by Iranian Human Rights Society, Qarchak and Varamin prison is a place of exile for women prisoners. This report written by a prisoner who recently released from Iran, and it is written as follows:
“When you go there, after one to two months, you don’t remember that you had a past, you had a life outside! A kind of primitive human life is going on in this prison.
Qarchak is an unlivable PLACE that has turned into a prison and exile. Qarchak prison is a ward named “Andarezgah 1″ which is divided into 10 halls. But it is so big that we used to call every hall a ward.”
Legal punishment for disobeying prison rules, transfer to Amin Abad
In another part of this report, it is stated as follows: “Many things in prison are considered violations. For example, cutting hair is a violation. In many cases, punishment for violation is transfering to Amin Abad Hospital (Mad House). There, either they bring problems to the prisoners, or they send women prisoners to solitary cells for many months.
Hunger and illness of prisoners
The food situation in this prison is disastrous. The prisoners are hungry. The dinner ration of every prisoner is a frozen boiled egg, a third of a potato and a piece of dry bread three times a week.
Mineral water is rationed in this prison and is sold at three times the price. Prisoner’s food ration is so low that the prisoners who cannot get money from outside, all remain hungry.
There is no gas or kitchen in Qorchak Varamin prison. Prisoners who have money buy canned goods from the store and must eat these canned goods uncooked. They suffer from severe stomach and intestinal diseases.
The state of health care in Qarchak women’s prison
The healthcare situation in Qarchak prison is disastrous. If a prisoner gets sick in the middle of the night, they hardly transfer him to the hospital. There is no medicine in the hospital, and the pharmacy is empty.
Prison women who are pregnant were aborted due to the harsh conditions of this prison. These women are not even treated. If anyone protests, they will transfer her to the worst hall.
The condition of teeth of the prisoners is bad due to the saltiness of prison’s drinking water. Many old prisoners have no teeth.
The situation of prisoners who sentenced to death
There are about 105-110 prisoners in the murder hall (female prisoners accused of murder), and generally five-sixth of them are under death sentence.
In this prison, 4-5 prisoners are taken for execution every week. But no one knows about this.
Suicide among female prisoners
Suicide has a high rate in this prison. Because life in Qarchak is terrible. The suicide statistics of female prisoners from this prison are not leaked to the outside.
Many women prisoners are kept in this prison in an indefinite and anonymous manner for a long time and their names are not mentioned anywhere.
solitary cell
The solitary cell in this prison has a low ceiling, where the prisoner must stay half-legged. Rooms of one meter by two meters have been allocated to solitary cell, and women prisoners are sent to solitary cell under various pretexts.
