Why is there execution in Iran?
Historically, execution has been a tool of power and dictatorship to intimidate and subdue people. Dictatorship ruling Iran has also been using the tool of execution for over forty years to create fear and establish its permanent rule. Because refraining from using tool of execution and repression means destruction of system of the Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist.
104 countries have abolished the death penalty through referendums. 50 countries have abolished this method of death and 6 countries only use execution during wartime. Currently, only 34 or 36 countries use this inhumane punishment, with Iran ranking second in terms of the number of executions per year among these countries and first in terms of the proportion of the population executed in the world!
