Execution of three prisoners in Urmia.Three drug-related prisoners were executed in Urmia prison.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Friday, June 9, 2023, three prisoners named Jafar Mohammadpour and Ghabad Farhadi were executed in Urmia prison on charges related to drugs.
43-year-old Jafar Mohammadpour, from Sardasht, and another prisoner, Ghabad Farhadi, was from Kermanshah. The names and details of the other prisoners are not known.
These three prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement yesterday to execute the death sentence. In addition, a female prisoner was also transferred to execute the death sentence.
It should be noted that since the beginning of the new year, the judiciary of Velayat Faqih has started mass execution of prisoners sentenced to death. Since the beginning of the Iranian year 1402, at least 180 prisoners have been executed.
