Political prisoner Arjang Davoudi was released from Gohardasht prison on March 4, 2023, after spending about 20 years in prison.

According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, the political prisoner Arjang Davoudi, who went to protest against the confiscation and looting of his property, arrested by the security police.

According to reliable sources, political prisoner Arjang Davoudi arrested by the security police when he went in front of Khamenei’s House to protest against the poisoning of schoolgirls, the confiscation of his property, and the oppression he suffered in the past 21 years.

Political prisoner Arjang Davoudi released from Gohardasht prison on March 4, 2023, after spending about 20 years in prison.

Engineer Arjang Davoudi is one of the oldest political prisoners in Iran. He is 70 years old and suffering from diabetes.

During his 21-year prison term due to torture, he lost part of his hearing and vision, and as a result of being thrown from the sharp and 16-step office of the head of Zahedan prison in 2018, he suffered a fracture of the upper part of his right leg and left leg. in the lower few vertebrae of his spine and now he is able to move with a crutch to a very limited extent.

Arjang Davoudi was born in 1953 in Abadan and studied in America. He graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management.

Mr. Davoudi was among the active students in the Confederation of Iranian Students before the revolution. After the 1978 revolution, he returned to Iran and worked in the Ministry of Oil. Seeing oppression and dictatorship, he decided to fight against it.

Political prisoner Arjang Davoudi arrested in November 1993. And subjected to the most severe tortures in solitary cells of prison 328 of Revolutionary Guards, Ward Two A. Then he sentenced by Judge Dehnavi in Revolutionary Court to 15 years imprisonment, 5 years of deprivation of social rights. Permanent dismissal from management of Parto Hekmat Educational-Cultural Complex, 74 lashes and exile to prisons in south of the country.

The main accusations of Arjang Davoudi, starting and establishing the Iranian Freedom Movement and Confederation of Iranian Students, writing and publishing the regime change manifesto, participating in production of documentary film Banned Iran and interviewing in it, insulting Khomeini, Khamenei and other officials of the system, insulting holy things And cooperation with Canadian journalist “Jane Kokan” to make the documentary “Iran Banned” is also mentioned in his case and led to the issuance of a verdict.

The documentary film “Forbidden Iran”, Saeed Mortazavi, the former prosecutor of Tehran, introduced as the main perpetrator of the murder of Iranian Canadian journalist Zahra Kazemi in 1982.

The past 19 years, Mr. Arjang Davoudi exiled to various prisons

In the past 19 years, Mr. Arjang Davoudi exiled to various prisons such as Evin Prison, Ahvaz Detention Center, Bandar Abbas Prison, Rajaei Shahr Prison, Zabul Prison and Zahedan Prison. In 2007, his house and personal car seized and confiscated by government agents. During his imprisonment, he protested many times with his messages against the violation of human rights in the dictatorial prisons of Velayat Faqih.

In July 2014, he was 61 years old, and after spending 10 years in prison. He sentenced to death on charges of being a member and supporter of the People’s Mojahedin Organisation. After some time, this sentence changed to 5 years of imprisonment.

In October 2016, he deported from Rajaei prison in Karaj to Zabul prison. During this transfer, the guards of Zabul Central Prison prevented the delivery of some belongings of this elderly prisoner.
