Execution of a 62-year-old man in Zanjan Central Prison and an increase in executions in Zahedan Central Prison
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Saturday, November 12 , 2023, news reports indicate the execution of a man on charges of murder in Zanjan Central Prison. Additionally, the number of executions in Zahedan Central Prison reached three. One of the executed prisoners in Zahedan Central Prison was political prisoner Meysam Chandani, who was executed after 12 years of imprisonment.
Increase in executions in Zahedan Central Prison
This morning, Sunday, November 12, 2023, in addition to the execution of political prisoner Maysam Chandani, two other prisoners named Abdulhagh Gomshadzahi and Reza Arbabzahi executed in Zahedan Central Prison.
According to Haalvahs’ News, Abdulhagh Gomshadzahi, 33 years old and from Mirjaveh, Balochistan, had been in prison since 2021 on charges of murder and sentenced to death for this crime.
Another prisoner, Reza Arbabzahi, 23 years old and an Afghan national, had been in prison since 2020 on charges of murder. It should be noted that Maysam Chandani a political prisoner who arrested at the age of 22 and executed on this day after 12 years in prison and enduring exhausting tortures.
Execution in Zanjan Central Prison
A 62-year-old man named Hojjat Qareh Bigloo executed in Zanjan Central Prison on Friday, 18th of November, 2023. Hojjat Qareh Bigloo, originally from Ardabil and residing in Tabriz, arrested and executed on charges of murder.
The execution of a 62-year-old man is reprehensible and condemned, and shows the need for execution and repression by the mullahs’ rule over Iran.
104 countries around the world have abolished the death penalty through referendums. 50 countries have deemed this method of death obsolete, and 6 countries only use execution during times of war. Currently, only 34 or 36 countries still employ this inhumane punishment, with Iran ranking second in terms of the number of executions per year among these countries and holding the first position in the world in terms of execution rate relative to its population!
