Supreme Court upholds death sentence for political prisoner Milad Zohrehvand
According to the Center for Human society, on Monday, November 13, 2003, the Mizan news agency affiliated with the Judiciary announced that the death sentence of political prisoner Milad Zohrehvand, one of the detainees of the 2022 uprising, confirmed by the Supreme Court.
This sentence was issued for the murder of Ali Nazari, a security guard affiliated with the Ministry of Intelligence, who was murdered on October 26, 2022, during the nationwide uprising. Mizan reported that the case is preparing to be sent and executed to the Hamedan Provincial Courthouse.
Concerning Milad Zohrehvand of the Detainees of the 2022 National Uprising in Malayer
Milad Zohrehvand born in 2002, from Malayer, an asphalt worker who recently married. He has a child who has not yet seen him.
He arrested on October 26, 2022, amid a nationwide uprising in Malayer. It said that the city of Malayer was tense that day and the protests continued until that evening. Milad Zohrehvand shot and wounded during the crowd. He then arrested and taken to prison.
In early July 2022, the Hamedan Revolutionary Court issued a death sentence for the murder of Ali Nazari, and the Head of Hamedan Judiciary confirmed the death sentence against him and sent the case to the Supreme Court.
According to sources familiar with the matter, this political prisoner was denied access to a lawyer during the proceedings and court. And his family was under pressure from the IRGC. He currently held in Hamedan Central Prison.
