Iran Human Rights Society, Thursday, May 28, 2026 – Ismail Ramzanpour, one of those arrested in the nationwide protests of 2025-2026 in Yazd, has been sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of this city. Based on published information, this political prisoner after arrest by security forces was transferred to a security detention center and was subjected to pressure and torture to make forced confessions. Human rights activists say the process of handling his case was carried out in a non-transparent atmosphere and without observing the principles of fair trial.

Ismail Ramzanpour, 38 years old and from Fars province, was arrested by security forces during the 2025-2026 protests in the city of Yazd.
