At least two prisoners were executed in the central prisons of Karaj and Borujerd in the last two days.
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society. On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of January 2023, at least two drug-related prisoners executed in Karaj and Borujerd Prison.
According to news from reliable sources, on Saturday, January 21, 2023, Ebrahim Dehghan executed in Tirche block prison of Borujerd. While he was in prison for 5 years, on drug charges.
Also, on Sunday, January 22, 2023. A prisoner named Saman Nabi Grossi was executed in Karaj Central Prison in connection with drugs.
The Iranian Human Rights Society has received other reports of more executions in Iranian prisons, which will be published after verification.

According to the statistics compiled by our colleagues in the Iranian Human Rights Society, at least 623 prisoners were executed in Iranian prisons in 2022. It is obvious that due to the censorship and the atmosphere of repression, this statistic is not complete, and the actual number of executions is much higher.
We remind you that in the year 2021, a total of 350 prisoners were executed in Iranian prisons under the rule of Velayat al-Faqih. The statistics recorded in 2022 indicate the expansion of executions. At least 273 more prisoners have been executed since 2021.
