Iranian Human Rights Society, Thursday, December 8, 2022. The death sentence of Mohsen Shekari, one of detainees of nationwide protests. It carried out in Gohardasht prison (Rajai Shahr) with charge of corruption on earth (Moharebeh) by injuring a repressive force and closing street.
Mohsen Shekari’s accusations announced in document issued by Tehran Revolutionary Court.
“Mohsen Shekhari accused verdict of corruption on earth (Moharebeh. By using weapons to kill and cause terror and deprivation of people’s freedom and security. and also, intentionally wounding a Basiji agent with a cold weapon while on duty. And blocking Sattar Khan Street in Tehran and disrupting order and security of society sentenced to death.”
23-year-old Mohsen Shekari, Masoud’s son, arrested on September 25 and his first court hearing held on October 2. On September 25, he arrested in Sattar Khan area of Tehran while blocking street and injuring one of Basiji’s repressive agents
Mohsen Shekari’s second hearing held on November 20 at Revolutionary Court. And he sentenced to death on charges of corruption on earth (Moharebeh).
Mohsen Shekari’s appeal also rejected in Supreme Court. In response to the appeal of the initial verdict issued by the defendant’s lawyer Mohsen Shekari, the Supreme Court declared:
“The appeal of the convicted lawyer against Mohsen Shekari against the issued verdict is not valid and justified. Because perpetrator’s actions in crowd of rioters and trying to block street, getting involved with some security forces. Also, injuring them with cold weapons is a clear example of verdict of corruption on earth (Moharebeh). And the decree issued in this regard is in accordance with Sharia and legal standards. Therefore, with reference to Article 469 Paragraph A of Criminal Procedure Law, it is confirmed and accepted.”
Therefore, based on false accusations and fictitious crimes and words that are specific to the legal guardianship system. And there is no other source or judicial reference, Mohsen Shekari is first detainee executed during recent nationwide protests.
Mohsen Shekhari was the breadwinner of his family, and he went to the street for freedom. He had no desire but freedom and committed no sin. But he executed innocently.
Once again, the words of Navid Afkari who said: “They are looking for necks for their rope” proved.
Iran’s Human Rights Society request all international organizations not to remain silent about the beginning of a great tragedy (execution of detainees) in Iran. and take urgent action without wasting time.
It is worth noting that Mohseni Ajei, the head of judiciary, said on December 5 at the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary. “The orders of some [protesters] approved and will implemente soon.”
During these protests, more than 520 people, including 65 children, died and more than 20,000 people (according to government statistics) arrested.
