Ali Honarzad, a prisoner in Salmas’s prison and his request for help
According to the Iranian Human Rights Society, on Thursday, August 24, 2023, Ali Honarzad, a prisoner locked in Salmas prison, asked the people to help him achieve the rights he was denied in prison.
On August 16, 2023, Ali Honarzad started a hunger strike to achieve his demands. He broke his hunger strike with the promise of the prison authorities. But the prison authorities did not fulfill their promise and his demands remained unanswered.
Ali Honarzad’s message to the public
In a message to the public, Ali Honarzad said: “During the trial, despite the absence of the private plaintiff and the declaration of the plaintiff’s consent, as well as the plaintiff’s failure to go to the forensic medicine.
Ignoring all these cases, the judge has sentenced me to the worst punishment, i.e. three years in prison. While the plaintiff had expressed his consent. I am experiencing many threats and psychological pressure from the authorities for the sake of my rights. Due to the non-fulfillment of the promises made by the authorities, I extend a helping hand to you dear ones, and I demand consideration of my citizenship rights.”
With these statements, Ali Honarzad has expressed his need for the people of the society to support and help him. He is waiting for his citizenship rights and his wishes to be fulfilled.

On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, Ali Honarzad, 20 years old, married and resident of Salmas, started his hunger strike again. He is serving his three-year sentence in Salmas prison. He has started a hunger strike to protest against injustice in prison.
